How can a vehicle registration renewal be paid?
There are five easy ways for you to renew your vehicle registration.
And, you can elect to pay your registration for three, six, nine
or twelve months, it’s up to you.
If paying in person at a Customer Service Centre your label will
be provided to you immediately on payment, otherwise your registration
certificate and label will be sent to you by post within 10 working
days.
If you have paid by phone, EZYReg or via mail, your vehicle may
be driven without displaying a current registration label, for up
to 30 days from the payment date or until the label is received,
whichever is the earlier.
You will be required to declare any Input Tax Credit (ITC) entitlement
at time of renewal. More information can be found on the reverse

Asked Questions.
Things to remember
- It is an offence to drive a vehicle that is unregistered
and/or uninsured.
- It is an offence to drive a vehicle with an expired
registration label affixed.
- If payment of your registration fee was made by telephone,
Internet or by mail you should carry the reference/receipt number
provided when driving the vehicle until the new label is received.
Five ways to renew your registration
Over the Internet
Using
EzyReg – Vehicle Registration System over the Internet or
by Phone
Payments may be made using the EZYReg Internet or Phone service
7 days a week including public holidays.
Payments using EZYReg
can only be made by MasterCard or Visa credit cards.
For your security, your payment details are encrypted, for further
details view our security statement.
If you require assistance you can phone 13 10 84 and speak with
an operator during the hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Wednesday and
8am to 8pm Thursday and Friday.
Simply visit www.ezyreg.sa.gov.au
and click on “Renew your registration now”.
You will need to have your renewal notice, as you will be requested
to enter your 9-digit payment number that appears at the top right
hand side of your renewal notice.
If you do not have your current renewal advice, you will be requested
to enter:
- licence /client number
- plate type
- plate number
(this information can be found on a previous renewal notice)
By telephone
Simply by phoning 1300 361 021, and following the prompts.
You will need to have your current renewal notice as you will be
requested to enter your 9-digit payment number that appears at the
top right hand side of your renewal notice.
At any Customer Service Centre
Visit a Registration and
Licensing Centre or Service SA Centre
Payments at any customer service centre can be made by:
- cash
- cheque
- debit cards
- credit cards - MasterCard and Visa only
- money orders
- traveller's cheques in Australian currency.
By mail
By sending the renewal advice to the postal address printed on
the front of your advice or to one of the Customer
Service Centres.
Payments by mail can be made by sending a:
- cheque marked not negotiable and made payable to Department
for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure
- money order
When renewing your registration by mail you must answer the question
relating to Input Tax Credit (ITC) entitlement posed on the renewal
advice with an answer of Yes or No prior to forwarding your payment
to a Customer Service Centre.
At Australia Post
Pay in person at any Australia
Post using POSTbillpay.
Payments may be made by:
- cash
- cheque
- money orders
- Debit or credit card
To renew your registration using this service you must ensure:
- you have your current renewal notice with you
- the registration is current (i.e. that it has not expired)
- you have answered the Input Tax Credit (ITC) entitlement question
located on the advice
- there are no changes to your registration
A receipt will be issued and must be displayed in the windscreen
of the vehicle until you have received and affixed your new registration
label. Any expired label must be removed.
