Through its Traffic Investigations Unit, the Metropolitan Region analyses, investigates and advises on the broad range of traffic situations.

The Unit monitors and develops traffic engineering solutions for

• Black Spot and other hazardous locations
• pedestrian and cyclist safety
• speed zoning on all roads

Site inspections, traffic and pedestrian surveys, and analysis of accident data are integral to the effective performance of this Unit.

The Unit also advises on

• tourist, directional and warning signs
• traffic engineering impact of proposed local area traffic management schemes
• main road enhancements and building developments, and public enquiries.
• road safety audits
